Survival Analysis of COVID-19 Patients in an Iranian Population

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has a high rate of mortality, but data regarding its prognosis are scarce. This study aimed to identify the risk factors associated with mortality and survival COVID-19 patients in southern province Iran. Materials Methods: was cross-sectional secondary database 3172 people who were admitted hospitals for treatment. Relative (RR) computed estimate between groups, log-rank test used compare functions different levels categorical variables. Finally, multivariable extended Cox model employed determine that affected patients. Results: The 10- 15-day 89% 80%, respectively, median time 30 days. Based on model, age, oxygen therapy, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, invasive ventilation, chronic cardiac disease, kidney cancer most important variables affecting Conclusion: Older (older than 40 years) those comorbidities (e.g., cancer) had higher rate; therefore, health-related organizations need plan prevention early detection reduce burden diseases such as pandemic much possible future.
